The Mercantile Athletic Federation (MAF) will conduct the 33rd Mercantile Annual Athletic Championship on 19, 20 and 21 August at the Mahinda Rajapaksha International Sports Complex, Diyagama.

The Mercantile Athletic Championship is the most colorful and popular event for mercantile sector athletes and is the main event organised by the MAF. Eligible athletes must be permanently employed for at least three months in a company, who are members of the Mercantile Athletic Federation.

The athletes who are permanently employed at least for three months period in a affiliated company under MAF can apply for individual events.

Novices eligible to enter are those who have not placed first, second or third in a major athletic meet. An athlete is eligible to enter for a maximum of three individual events. Events to be worked out are in age groups.
The organizing committee is taking great effort to have this year’s championship in a colourful, professional atmosphere and is also looking at adding more technological applications at this year’s event.
