All arrangements are being made to hold the 41st national sports festival at the Mahinda Rajapakse Sports complex-Diyagama from 18th to 20th December.

Over fifteen hundred athletes from nine provinces are set to take part in the event, while as many as 300 plus officials will be on duty at the Festival.

Most of the track and field events will be worked off during the three days.

Beach Volleyball – 20-22 November – Trincomalee Beach
Kabadi Tournament – 27-30 November – Manar
Cricket Tournament – 27-29 November – Matara
Judo Tournament – 26-29 November – Tangalle
Volleyball Tournament – Nawalapitiya
Football Tournament – Football
Karate Tournament – Anuradhapura
Elle Tournament – Kuliyapitiya

This time the Ministry of Sports has decided to host these events island wide with covering all districts.

Nestle Lanka is the main sponsor of the XLI-National Sports Festival 2015 along with the marathon, walking race and cycle races.

It is an annual event held with the objective of identifying the talents existing in the sports sector of this country and to promote these talents.
