Seneviratne excels in Otters Juniors

Anika Seneviratne swept the boards at the Otters Junior Open with wins in the under 16 and 18 singles and the under 14 and under 18 doubles events.

In the under 14 doubles semi finals top seeded Anika and Alana Seneviratne beat Nehara Weerawansa and Anjalika Kurera 9/2 and in the final they beat Savini Jayasooriya and Senithi Weerasekera 9/4 to clinch the title.

The under 16 final saw Anika defeat Proboda Jayasekera 6/4 6/2.

In the under 18 doubles Anika and Hasinthi Lokuge beat Janali Manamperi and Tara Greig 9/0 in the semi finals and then beat Pumi Wickramasinghe and Proboda Jayasekera 9/0 in the final. The current rain played havoc with the matches and the doubles had to be cut down to 9 points.
