Travel Trade Sports Carom Championships 2015

Ramada Colombo emerged as the new Mens Team Championship Winner of the Travel Trade Sports Carom Championships 2015, at the 3rd Tournament held at the Galadari Hotel “Tulip” PDR, last Saturday.

In the Men’s team Championship where 11 teams participated, where Ramada Colombo dethroned the 2013 & 2014 winner, Mt. Lavinia Hotel in the Semi Finals and went on to beat Sri Lankan Airlines in the Final 3/0.

In the Women’s singles where 20 participated, the new winner was Shereen Pietersz from George Steuarts Travels, who beat L.D. Dehani from Sri Lankan Airlines 10/07 in the Final. In the play off for the 3rd place, Nimanthi Kodituwakku (Mt. Lavinia Hotel) beat Niluka Damayanthi (The Sands Waskaduwa.)

In the Women’s doubles, where 09 pairs participated Mt. Lavinia Hotel managed to retain the title via Nimanthi Kodituwakku and L.D. Dehani, beating G.H. S Priyadarshani & Irandi M. Pathirana, Sri Lankan Airlines 25/01.

Semi Finals : Ramada Colombo beat Mt. Lavinia Hotel 3/0; Sri Lankan Airlines beat Exotic Holidays 3/2;

Final : Ramada Colombo beat Sri Lankan Airlines 3/2.

The Ramada Colombo Team comprised of W.S.P.F. Jayasuriya, R.P.S. Pradeep Kumara, Amila Samayawardena, J.K. Gamage, S.H. D.L. de Silva & R.M.T. Jayalath.

The tournament was conducted by a team from Sri Lanka Carom Federation, headed by Mrs. Rohini Mathiasz and was Co-Sponsored by Galadari Hotel for the 3rd year in succession.
Awards were presented by Vice President/TTSC, Suranjith de Fonseka & Irfan Sherifdeen, Lobby Manager, Galadari Hotel.
