Harshana hits gold at Brazil

Harshana Tilekaratne clinched a Gold medal in the under-11 School Chess Championship in Brazil, in the city of Juiz de Fora, Minas Gerais state.

The talented youngster from Maliyadeva College, Kurunegala was tipped to be one of the star chess players for the country and the Sri Lanka Chess Federation will be delighted with this result.

Meanwhile in the under-7 category Eesha Pallie of St. Paul’s Milagiriya won the Bronze medal for Sri Lanka.
