Sports minister conveys heartiest congratulations to Sri Lankan Cricket Team…

Minister of Sports Mahindananda Aluthgamage congratulated the Sri Lankan cricket squad for their first ever Test series win against England at Headingley, England on Tuesday, 24 June.

In his message Minister Aluthgamage congratulated the Sri Lanka’s Cricket Captain Angelo Mathews and the entire Sri Lankan cricket team on the 1-0 Test series victory, T-20 international and 50 overs international victories at the cricket born soil England.

“As a nation we are proud of this victory which gives Sri Lanka a victory in all three formats of the game as Sri Lanka won the one-off Twenty20 by nine runs at The Oval and followed it with a 3-2 win in the One International Series.

I congratulate and express my gratitude to the Sri Lankan Team, the coaches and the Selection Committee for their utmost support” the minister further uttered.
