“Sam Chandrasinghe Challenge Trophy” 7’A Side Football tournament

“Sam Chandrasinghe Challenge Trophy” under 17 7’A side Football tournament is an annual event for all Island schools, 0rganized by Old Anandian Soccer Wing for the Thirteenth consecutive year. This year the tournament will be held on July 25 and 26 at Sugathadasa ground, Colombo 13.

The tournament is sponsored by Sam Chandrasinghe, a well reputed wealthy businessman in United Kingdom, who was a past football player in Ananda College. The motive of this tournament is to promote football among children in Sri Lanka.

Forty Eight (48) Schools (included North East Schools) have been invited from Island wide and each participate will receive medal and a certificate. Breakfast and lunch also provided to all teams. Apart from the main trophy, Plate and Bowl champions and runners-up, best player and best goal keeper will be received a memorable shield, cups, meddles and sportswear.

The Football Federation of Sri Lanka, School Football Association and the Principal, Ananda College has given the fullest co-operation and blessing to the Old Anandian Soccer Wing to make this event a success.
