Treasurer J. M. Jauzi to continue his work

J. M. Jauzi the Treasurer of the Football Federation Sri Lanka (FFSL) has been given the green light to carry out his duties after the court disallowed an enjoining order which had previously prevented him from acting as the Treasurer of FFSL.
A former FFSL President (2002-2005) Gamini Randeniya had filed a case against the FFSL office bearers in May 2014 at the Colombo District Court insisting that the FFSL was wrong not holding an annual AGM to appoint a new staff then.

However, an enjoining order from the Colombo District Court had forced the Treasurer to shy away from his duties.

He was even temporarily banned from making any payments from the FFSL funds which included the salaries of the staff as well.

This forced the President of FFSL Ranjith Rodrigo to pay the salaries of the staff using his personal funds.

However, with the court’s decision, the FFSL treasurer will now be able to carry out his day to day work. Speaking to ‘Ceylon Today’ Rodrigo said it has been a tough period, but he is happy with the current situation.

“I am quite happy with this. We’ve found it difficult previously with the unavailability of the treasurer because he is the one who handles the instructions passed by the FIFA and AFC on how to manage the funds and things like that”.
“Last month I had to use my personal money (said to be Rs1,800,000) to pay the salaries of the staff”.

“I know there are some parties who are willing to see this Federation collapse but we have always done our best for the betterment of Sri Lanka football and will continue to do so” President, FFSL said.
