Sri Lanka under 21 stickers off to 4th Men’s Junior AHF Cup

The Sri Lanka Men’s under 21 hockey team comprising of 18 players accompanied by four officials will take wing to Bangladeshon Thursday (November 27) to take part in the Fourth Men’s Junior Asian Hockey Federation Cup International Hockey championships to be held in Dhaka from November 30 to December 7.

Chinese Taipei, Oman, Thailand, Sri Lanka and hosts Bangladesh will be participate to this tournament. Shahid Kuthubdeen of Royal Hockey Club will be lead the Sri Lanka team with Surendran Jayendran of Old Bens Sports Club as his deputy.

The team includes six schoolboy stickers, two from Vijaya College Matale and one each from St. Sylvester’s College Kandy, Dharmaraja College Kandy, Joseph Vas College Wennappuwa and Royal College Colombo.
Buddhika Naveen Peiris (Vijaya Matale), Malinga Bandara (Vijaya Matale), Chamalka Rukshan (Joseph Vas Wennappuwa). Shalitha Jayawardena (Royal Colombo), Danuska Weeratne (St. Sylvester’s Kandy), Ramil Dharmaratne (Dharmaraja Kandy) were six schoolboy stickers in this team.

Two experienced coaches Anuruddha Herath Bandara will be joined to this squad as Head coach and and Pulasthi Lanerolle will be joined as assistant coach. Sri Lanka will play their first match against
ChineseTaipei on 30th November.
