Pannala Speed starts on December 14

The Pannala Race Track which is probably one of the top favourites when it comes to hosting classy motor racing events will be filled with action once again on 14 December.

Pannala track did not see much of action during the year 2014 as racing events were taking place in a number of other locations around the island. Many competitors were unhappy as Pannala was one of their favorite tracks to show the prowess of the man and machine. Therefore the organizing clubs have decided to conduct one final race for the year at Pannala and give the local heroes a chance to prove their might.

Carlton Motor Sports, Negombo Motor Sports Club, Sri Lanka Racing Drivers and Riders and AMRC, are in a joint operation to make this happen coming 14 December which will be the race day for the ‘Pannala Speed 2014’ with qualifying taking place during the morning session and the race in the afternoon. The day will come to light with all the motor cars set to burn the asphalt with all the machinery prepped to the limit.

During the year, many of these local talents took part in many races and entertained hundreds of thousands of loyal motor sports fans around the country. Statistics prove that the motor sports in now the second most popular sport in the country, thanks to the tireless efforts put by the organizing officials and the competitors alike. So this will be the farewell to a fantastic year of motor sports in Sri Lanka and then getting ready for a similar action packed year ahead.
