PERTH IS LIKE MY SECOND HOME: CHAMARI ATAPATTU

Perch Scorchers have snared the signatures of one of the game’s most exciting player, super star batswoman Sri Lanka captain Chamari Athapaththu joining their ranks for WBBL|07.

Chamari Athapaththu returns to the WBBL as a must-watch top-order batter capable of both tempered touch and brutal brilliance with the blade. The current Sri Lankan captain, who has previously represented the Melbourne Renegades, shot to headlines when she battered 178 not out against the Australian attack in Bristol at the 2017 ICC Women’s World Cup.

“Perth is like my second home, I have (family and friends) who live in Perth,” Athapaththu said.

“I have good memories in Australia. I love the conditions and playing against Australian bowlers, there’s good pace and bounce.”

“Chamari Athapaththu is an undeniable match-winner and has the ability to take the game away from the opposition quickly.” Perth Scorchers Women’s head coach Shelley Nitschke said.

I’m really excited to be present @ScorchersBBL for upcoming @WBBL season.
